Creative Writing Prompts for Early Readers

Once your child has mastered basic letter tracing, it's time to move on to creative writing! But staring at a blank page can be intimidating for kids.

Using Prompts

A prompt gives them a starting point. Use our Studio's tracing tools to create the beginning of a sentence, such as:

• "If I had a pet dinosaur, I would..."
• "When I travel to space, I will see..."

The child traces the beginning of the sentence to practice their handwriting, and then finishes the thought using their own imagination. It's the perfect bridge between tracing and independent writing!
